Amy and Olivia:
Listen carefully for technique, accuracy, interpretation, phrasing, articulation, tonal control, pulse, tempo, pedal use, ensemble skills, and stage presence.
Practice your "warm up" for the judge and "May we play a few notes to warm up?" statement.
Anything that isn't perfect needs to be drilled 50 times at this point. Just to let you know, this is where it should have been at master class of last month. I'm just giving you an idea of what level the Christmas songs need to be at in two weeks. If you don't think you can get it up to tempo and learned in one week, then I will give you a new piece. Remember, things need to be perfect from the beginning (NOT up to tempo), but all components of FERN need to be solid. Once it is perfect, we increase tempo.
Work hard for Sat. Trust your work and be overly musical!
